NATIONAL LITERACY MISSION

Social Empowerment…The way to a progressive India

At St. Thomas’ School, our endeavour is to develop in our students an informed and analytical mind, a sensitive heart and deep sense of responsibility. It is this belief that made us join the Delhi Schools’ Literacy Project as a founding member and continue to work with dedication. This year, the literacy day celebrations were held on Wednesday, 26 August 2015 and the theme was social issues and we hosted the Inter School Street play competition. Our Guest of Honour was Mrs. P. Loomba (Secretary DSLP and Springdales Education Society) and the judges were Ms. Anusuya Vaidya, Technical Director, Akshara Theatre, Ms. Anusuya Roy, Senior Assignment Editor, NDTV, Ms. Anjana Acharya, Sociology teacher in St. Thomas’ School. The students brought alive their awareness and sensitivity to social issues. 19 schools of the North West zone participated. It was an overwhelming success, all in all.
