July 22-27 was indeed a week of hectic activity and unbridled fun as the school celebrated a week-long festival of Inter-School cultural events - Epiphany 2013.
The first event of the extravanga was the Sarojini Naidu Inter-School Poetry recitation competition. Intense competition marked the recitation of poems on the 2 themes – ‘War & Peace’ and ‘A Passage to India’. A stirring condemnation of war was equally matched by eloquent patriotism.
This was followed by Srijan organized by the Art department. Enthusiastic students from various schools were at their creative best - making furniture out of waste products.
Contemporary India with its myriad issues was the theme of the Helen Jerwood Inter-School extempore. The range of topics was impressive as well as the depth of the knowledge shown by the students.
Music and dance took centre stage and reverberated in the auditorium in the next 3 days.
Surlehri- the Inter-School Indian music competition saw 18 schools and more than 300 students vying for the top honours.
‘Moods & Melodies’ - the Inter-School western music competition - proved that music transcends all boundaries. Participants in both categories – duet & group mingled enthusiastically & performed to old & new beats.
The grand finale saw enthusiasm at its peak as it was the first time that the school hosted an Inter-School dance competition – ‘Alors on Danse’. Contemporary dance was at its best with foot tapping beats in the solo category and unimaginable blend of moves in the group ‘fusion’ category.
